Our toddler classrooms promote independence while focusing on self help skills and developing verbal skills. As in our infant program, a 1:4 staff:child ratio is maintained in this room along with primary caregivers. Classrooms have equipment scaled in size for toddlers. Shelves contain materials that are engaging and build foundations in motor and cognitive development.

Through our theme based curriculum activities are planned for art/sensory experiences, fine and large motor development, and language. In our toddler room we encourage children to communicate in appropriate ways. Toddlers are introduced to the Zoo-Phonics cast of characters and the phonetic sound of the letter they represent. Circle time, stories and songs occur throughout the day and in small doses to meet the developmentally appropriate attention span of toddlers. Individual daily records are documented and are located by the child’s cubby for parents to have a snapshot of their child’s day.
